Carey originally contacted us to create a tool for Windows 10, customized to his own specifications for his use in PC builds and repair work, and we learned from his subscribers who expressed an interest it was a great tool for them as well.  If you’re still running Windows 10, you’ll want Uncle Carey’s Windows 10 Optimizer until you upgrade to Windows 11.

With Microsoft’s support for Windows 10 ending on October 14th, we knew it was time for a tool with new optimizations specific to Windows 11.

Compatibility

Uncle Carey’s Windows 11 Optimizer is designed for and tested on Windows 11 only, and will not function on earlier versions of Windows.

For use on Windows 10, you should use Uncle Carey’s Windows 10 Optimizer only.  If you do not have it already, it is available for purchase here.  Note that these are separate tools, so purchasing one tool does not give you access to both.

General Usage

Uncle Carey’s Windows 11 Optimizer is a portable application, one single .exe file which has no need for an installation procedure and no other external dependencies.

  • Simply run the .exe file and click the Optimize All button to apply all recommended optimizations, or individually toggle your desired optimizations one at a time.
  • There are two cases where an option is not recommended and may not be performed by the Optimize All button, clicking on these individually should give a message as to why the optimization was not performed.  These two are:
    • Carey would not select the first option “ Disable Startup App Delay” when the PC does not have an SSD as its primary OS drive.
    • We would also not select “ Disable Standby/Sleep” and “ Disable Hibernation” on a laptop.
